MAC Pro Longwear Foundation Review

This past weekend I purchased the new MAC foundation that just came out. I was very excited to try it because when I go to work at 9am my makeup looks great- and then by 1 in the afternoon I need to touch up my face again. So I wanted to try this one out and see if it passed my test of lasting all day at work.

...and good news.... IT DID! This make up is on all day until I wash it off at night. It has excellent buildable coverage. So it really concealed any skin discolorations or imperfections. I don't have to re-apply my make up at all! However, some shine will build from natural skin oils throughout the day so I would only recommend an oil blotter- additional make up not needed! PERFECT!

A word of advice for you: Definitely try the color at the store before you purchase it. From my experience, since it has such good coverage, it is a bit darker than the other foundation products. While I am usually an NC30- I had to go down a shade with this foundation to an NC 25. It is not a 'dewy' or 'matte' look. It looks pretty true to natural skin.

I applied my foundation with a MAC 109 brush. I really like that brush for foundation and even sometimes for blush application. So for those of you who are in the market for a new foundation brush- I would recommend this one.

16 more days...

....until the MAC Venemous Villains make-up collection comes out. I am so excited. My favorite Disney movie of all time was Sleeping Beauty. Therefore I cannot wait to get my hands on some of the make up inspired by "Malificent". Ahhh!!!! Cannot wait!

My purchase of the day

During my lunch break today I headed over to the mall and purchased some boots. It was totally unexpected. I had no purpose to go to the store, I was just looking to spend some time browsing, and then BOOM! These babies hit me so hard I couldn't leave without them.
These booties are by Kelsi Dagger. This particular stye is called 'Wilma'. They were so comfortable and on sale. I immediately purchased them. I also purchased some leopard flats but I can't tell if I like them yet. My feet are in pain from a pair of shoes I wore to work today so I can't tell if the leopard shoes are uncomfortable or if my feet are just still in pain from the shoes earlier today. ehhh... we'll see.

My Kelsi Dagger boots are available here.

My Fall Boot

Since fall is here I am so excited because this finally means that I don't have to worry about my toes looking perfect with sandals.... now I can finally start wearing all the boots I want! And to start off my fall wardrobe I need to get my hands on these....
These Sam Edelman Vancouver booties can be found here.

Torn by Ronny Kobo

So ever since I saw this grey sweatshirt on Kim Kardashian (aka my fashion icon), I have been dying to get it!!! I saw this on her last year but by the time I went to Intermix to purchase it, they were completely sold out! I was so bummed....

Until now.

Every now and then I google search this sweatshirt to see if anyone is selling it or has it up on Ebay. Well, it must have been my lucky day because Bluefly.com had it!!!! This sweatshirt comes in grey and also in army green. It's 30% off the retail price so it comes to $126. And if you subscribe to their mailing list you get free shipping! SCORE.

Needless to say I purchased the grey one and am in heaven.

Here is all the make up that I cannot wait to get my hands on ASAP!

If I had to choose the number one choice right now it would be the MAC brush. It sells for $32 and is a great foundation brush. I'm thinking of using it with my Make Up For Ever foundation and also my MAC studio fix foundation. MAC brush.... I have my eye on you! lol

Fall Nail Color

So fall is here and I cannot wait to start wearing some fall shades on my nails. On my wish list right now are two Chanel nail polish colors...

'Particuliere'. I love this color. It's so pretty.

A similar, less expensive version of 'Particuliere' is OPI's 'You Don't Know Jacques'. I am currently wearing this color on my nails and it is one of my favorites!

This color purple looks beautiful once its on your nails. I tried looking for a similar color but nothing really mimics this shade, its so unique because of the shimmery swirls within the color. I WANT, WANT, WANT!

Rebecca Minkoff

I saw this clutch at Intermix on Newbury St. and I want it sooo bad. I wanted it in the peach color but couldn't find a pic... Here is the black version.

I will need to save my pennies. This bad boy costs around $300. Oy.

Shopday Saturday!

So today I went over to Macy's because I was interested in getting some new makeup. I ended up purchasing two things. A mascara and a cream eyeliner.

I purchased Lancome's Hypnose Drama Mascara in Excessive Black. I LOVE this mascara. I got it as a deluxe sample at Sephora and I have been using the sample size instead of my usual mascara, Buxom Lash. So today I upgraded and got the full size.
This mascara is so black (hence the color name) and it really has a lot of product on the wand so you need to be careful to wipe away excess mascara before applying it to your lashes. I usually do two coats of this and it makes my lashes look so long and full! I LOVE LOVE it! It sells for $24.50 so the price is a bit high but I think it is worth it.

As for my cream eyeliner, I purchased Clinique's eyeliner in Black Honey. This is normally something I wouldn't purchase but I saw Tiffany D mention that it was one of her favorites in her youtube videos so I decided to see for myself.
I normally wear black eyeliner but lately I noticed that sometimes its a little too dramatic, especially for work. I wanted a brown eyeliner so I went to the makeup counter and asked to see this color and also a plain brown. I tried both on and while they both were nice, I went for this one because it has a little bit of shimmer to it while the other color was a bit flat.
I also applied both to my eyes and this one made my light brown colored eyes just POP! I definitely recommend this color for you brown eyed babes out there! For $14.50, definitely a steal.
